| Q1 What type of image should I send? You may send a print, a negative, a slide or a painting, up to A4 ( 210mm x 297mm ) standard letter size. Please note that the final Puzzle shape is a rectangle ( 420mm x 594mm ). If you send a square, round or oval photograph, some cropping will occur in our computers.Your original will not be affected. Copyright - please check that you have permission to reproduce any photograph or picture sent to KFT. Q2 I am sending KFT a photograph? Please choose your photographs with care. The picture must be sharp and in focus. The more detail - the better the puzzle. Scratched and torn photos are a problem - contact KFT if you are in doubt. Photo Size Standard Gloss prints are best - 150mm by 100mm ( 4" x 6") and larger. Enlarged photos are excellent. The maximum size to send is A4 - 210mm by 297mm - the size of a standard letter. Post Pack flat between two sheets of cardboard. Photos printed on your own inkjet printer The best option is to send the full digital file to KFT on a CD. Please print out at A4 210mm x 297mm or as large as possible. Problem photographs Fuzzy, dirty, scratched. Small photos under 150mm by 100mm ( 4" x 6"). Square and Panoramic photos - these have to be cropped in the computer. Your original will not be affected. Do not Do not use paper clips to hold your photo in place as this marks the print. Do not mark the areas that you wish to have enlarged on the photo - send a sketch. Do not write on the back of a photo and place immediately on top of the next photo. Q3 I am sending a negative? Please choose your negatives with care. The original picture must be sharp and in focus. The more detail - the better the puzzle. Scratched and torn negatives are a problem - contact KFT if you are in doubt. Negative Size The professional scanner at KFT can accept negative film from 35mm to 4" x 5". Remember Please remember to enter the negative number on the order form. The negative number is printed under every negative. Problem negatives The colours of your Jigsaw Puzzle may be slightly different from your original photograph when scanned directly from the negative. Do not Do not use paper clips to hold your negatives in place as this marks the negative. Please place your negatives in a separate bag or envelope to protect from scratches. Q4 I am sending a Slide? Please choose your slides with care. The original picture must be sharp and in focus. The more detail the easier the puzzle. Scratched and bent slides are a problem - contact KFT if you are in doubt. Slide Size The professional scanner at KFT can accept slide film from 35mm to 4" x 5" Remember Please remember to enter a number or name on the slide frame. Unframed slides - please use a separate bag for each and number or name. Do not Do not use paper clips to hold your slide in place. Please place your slide in a separate bag or envelope to protect from scratches. Q5 I am sending a Digital Photo on a CD Digital photos from cameras over 3 megapixels are excellent. Photos from digital cameras should be taken at the maximum or the largest resolution setting and at the highest quality setting. The original picture must be sharp and in focus. The more detail - the better the puzzle. Saving on a CD Please send KFT the full file - do not compress for the web. Please save your files on a standard CD. Post to KFT Please put thick card around your CD box to protect in the post. Photos from your own Software You can create your own collages, add text to your picture, crop or change the colours. Please save your file on a CD. Save as one of the following formats .psd .tiff .jpeg .bmp .eps The ideal file sizes are These can be Landscape or Portrait A4 210mm by 297mm file size 150 dpi up to 500 dpi. A3 297mm by 420mm file size 100 dpi up to 350 dpi. A2 420mm by 594mm file size 72 dpi up to 250 dpi. Pixels at least 1684 x 1191 pixels or more. Q6 I am sending a Digital File via e-mail? You can now email your image to KFT. This is an experimental service only and will be upgraded to a full secure site in 2004. Useful for customers without a CD writer. Your payment and order form must still be posted to KFT. You must give your email a Subject - always start with the word Puzzle and then add your name - for example : Puzzle - John Smith Attachments Send your image as a jpeg. Your original file should be over 5mb and compressed to 800k -1mb Smaller files than this do not enlarge well - the full puzzle size is 594mm by 420mm. Problems KFT will not open an e-mail without a subject. Q7 I am sending an illustration - painting? You may send a painting or illustration up to A4 in size. Great examples are children's paintings. The more detail - the better the puzzle. Scratched and torn paintings are a problem - contact KFT if you are in doubt.
